Taurus pt101 .40 caliber

Alright fellas. I need some help. I'm getting a pt 101 this week and the mag that comes with it has a problem with locking in. I want a new magazine for it. What I need from you guys, is suggestions for the best quality magazines, without costing over $30. Oh and I want one that does not have the extra piece of plastic on the bottom of the magazine that sticks out and looks stupid. I would like one that's flush with the bottom of the gun like a colt 1911 mag. Thanks

I second that.

Just got a pt99 and two mags came with it - (used).
The one mag is s.s. metal and is fine, but the black one that says Taurus on it does not want to go back into the gun without depresing the mag release button.
I have not fired it yet, so who knows.

But I feel like I should just get a new one. Should I send back to Taurus or just buy one?

Just get another mag. Thats what I'm doing. Rather than complaining il just buy another one so I have good one that's reliable. The faulty one can sit in my tactical vest. The good one will sit in the gun under my bed full of hallow points

Yea if I were you I would just get a new mag.

Its not worth the time and trouble to send it back

Good luck with your mag. Tell me how it turns out and let me know what you decide to do

there are apparently 2 types of pt100/101's now.
so you might make sure the mags are compatible.

mec gar would be my go to for mags.

Why would you buy something that you already know doesn't work?

I don't think you are going to have much luck finding mags for cheaper than $25-30. I had a PT100 and wasn't ever able to find anything cheaper. CDNN would be my best suggestion on finding some.

Just because the mag doesn't work, that doesn't mean I shouldn't buy the gun. It's easy to replace a mag, not easy to buy a whole new gun. $30 vs $400. A bad mag is a terrible reason to not buy a gun.

And thanks, il check out the brand of mags.
