Savage 110 conversion
Can anyone help?
I recently bought a used Savage 110 in 308 in remarkable shape and want to convert it to a 204. I have the replacement 223 bolt head but have no concept as to what the magazine work will consist of. Can someone outline all the required changes? I can always sell the 110 and buy a Savage 10, but this rifle is one that will be hard to replace when it comes to the shape it is in. |

204
Sir:
I really don't know but if you contact Savage they may have a magazine box that will solve your problem. I've never fooled with the 204 but Tim Gardner at Douglas bbls. told me that if I ever tried one I'd shoot nothing else! That 308 box may (?) work - I'd try it. Savage is a great rifle - bbl. is easy to change, both lugs always bear - I've got one in 416 Taylor (converted from 300 win. mag.) and the magazine needed no change at all. Hope your project works out. Harry B. |
