While we might not agree on everything, we do have similar tastes in revolvers. I was kind of surprised the 1872 Colt open top made your list, do you have an original one? They're kind of scarce IIRC.

Here are some of my guns from your list:

1) Ruger blackhawk unconverted 357 with a 1965 3 screw unconverted 41 magnum

2) I guess this one is disqualified for being a 5.5 in instead of a 4 3/4 in SAA. 1967 2nd gen 45 colt

6) Colt Python 4in - I never cared for Pythons and I did end up selling this gun. I do want a collector grade example, but Pythons are hard to find reasonable.

7) For this one, I figure you might mean a 5 or 4 screw pre model 27, but you didn't specify. Here is my 27-2 3.5 in, N4XXXXX in the presentation case

8) S&W 586 4in - mine is a nickel no dash, somewhat scarce

9) I have these National Match 38 specials instead of a true Gold Cup.

10) The Colt woodsman match target

And last but not least, The Colt woodsman match target. In the pic, both of mine are 3rd gen guns. One of the MTs was bought my father in the 1970s for $102, sold to his Uncle for $100, and then sold to me a few years ago. A special gun to me.

[/IMG]

So what do I like? Well I never cared for the looks of early semi autos except for 1911s. I also don't care for Ruger DA revolvers, and many other popular guns. I like the unusual and or vintage guns.

For revolvers, I think the K-22 / model 17s are nice looking guns. I think overall I prefer the S&W looks in general to Colt's looks, but not by a wide margin. I appreciate them both.

6 in or 6.5 in N frames are also fantastic. Here is my 1958 pre model 29 4 screw - what a sheen it has

For semi autos, I like the Walther PP / PPK, the 1911 and most any Woodsman, for looks alone.

This is PP is my 1941 WaA359 accepted PP. The mag serial numbers to the gun, which likely makes it a Luftwaffe (airforce) contract gun.

1911s and its copies are nice. Here is my 1920 commerical with a Star model B

For 1911s, I really like the Colt National Match and Gold Cup guns. Here is my brothers Gold Cup which lives in my safe

High Standards are handsome IMO

I almost forgot, I really like high standard semi auto pistols. Here are some of mine

High Standard G380

High Standard "number series" Trophy - ca 1975

High Standard Supermatic - predecessor to the Trophy - early 1950s

As I posted, the guns and barrel lengths were mypreference according to looks. Performance, the number of screws, etc., was not tken into consideration.

And, yeah, I agree with most of you all who posted. The ones I named were those that came immediately to mind.

Thanks for your response. And photos, which is what I had hoped for.

I'd say Bob Wright's list is pretty much what I would say. The open top conversions are definitely some fine looking handguns. The 1851 Navy is pretty sweet too.

One of the best looking firearms to me is. . .Smith and Wesson Model 10, 4'' pencil barrel with a lustrous blue finish. Just about perfect IMHO.

Reolver

I've got an .357 Colt King Cobra snubbie I bought 25 years ago that I think has the look of beauty.

Okay, it's not fancy, but still looks good to me.

Here's one of my favorites. Just a nice, little SB Chief flat-latch with a T-grip:

Alienbogey's 4" blue Python is the best looking revolver I've seen with the Model 27 3.5" a very close second. Two of my favorite revolvers. I have two Python's and am on the hunt for a Model 27 3.5".

Alienbogey's 1911 aint bad either!

WOW! Thank you gentlemen. The looks of your guns is exceeded only by your photographic abilities.

Nice guns, nice photos. Just what I had hoped for.
