New scope suggestions

I'm looking for a new scope and want suggestions. I'm moving my Sightron SII 6x24 to my hunting rifle. I want a replacement for my 22-250 Remington VLS. I hunt with it but generally only target shoot. Budget will be around $500.00. Fixed power or varible 20x minimum. It must have mil dots or a suitable alternative for range compensation.
