building load question

I know what powder I want ( varget ) and what bullet I want ( 50 grain hornady v max ) but the manual does not list this powder. where do I start? stop? its for a 222 remington

Hodgdon site lists 23 gr to start.

You need published load data to start. Go here:

http://data.hodgdon.com/cartridge_load.asp

Start load: 23 grains, Max load: 25 grains. Work up slowly and look for signs of overpressure.

any suggestions to primer. my hornady manual says remington 7 1/2
