Returning an M1 Carbine to uniform

I recently restored a military stock for my M1 carbine. For the last few years this gun has been wearing a plastic Choate stock. It felt good to return it to MILSPEC condition.

Nice to see your refinished M2 stock on the Carbine, the Choate stock looks pretty cool but as you noticed from the feedback GI is more accepted. I am a Carbine fan receiving my first through the NRA in the early sixties and at one time having about fifty of them (I tend to get obsessive with guns at times). I did take a beater one time and sporterize it but then could never warm to it and traded the Carbine for a S&W 19. Nice video on your now "new" M1 carbine. :-)

Carbine blues:

For some reason I can't play your video: I had to send my M-1 carbine into mil tech for rebuild, rebarrel. came back really nice: but took a long time. I've seen the different variations at the firing range I go to and my stock Carbine always brings attention every time I go. I think you will enjoy firing it with the original stock.
