Reloading .357 for hunting.

I would like to load a good pig hunting round using a hard cast SWC. I currently have a LEE 158gr SWC tumble lube mold that i have been using hardball alloy in(2% tin, 6% antimony, and 92% lead). which produces fantastic bullets. any suggestions on a good load for this bullet style?

I like 2400 or H110 with the Lyman 358429. A little lite for hogs but will put them down.

I Use the Same Mold

Six-cavity, and I apply a gas check also.

The finished weight is 163gr, and they look mean.

I plan to load them with WW296, with loads published in the Winchester Reloading Guide.

cliche

-sized case
-Redding Profile Crimp die; heavy (but experiment, too)
-CCI500 or WSP (not "Magnum")
-start charge 13.5g 2400; can work up (but suggest absolute MAXIMUM of 15.5g -- but your gun may stop at less) SAFETY FIRST

I agree the the post above. 13.5 of 2400 with a NON-magnum primer has been my standard plinker round for a long time. If you work up to 15.5 (or more depending on the gun) you are into "stout" range. Be careful. Don't be surprised if you end up around 14.5 or so as your top end.

Watch the casing extraction/ejection.

As usual, be careful and work up slowly.
