best 45 colt brass?
i am trying to buy 45 colt brass to reload for my uberti 1873 revolver. it will be lighter loads with lead bullets just for plinking. Win, Rem, Horanady and starline are all on backorder. the only brass i can find is magtech. this brass has a cannelure on it. is it worth buying magtech or should i wait? i am hoping to get alot of reloads with the light loads.

I love Starline. Can't go wrong and the price is usually right!

Been using Remington and Winchester in my .44Mag and 45Colt. The way things are I would be happy with anything I found. Just order the least amount you can get by on to try. It took me two months or more just to get the .44 Mag cases and found them by accident

Another vote for Starline. I have loaded most brands of brass and found that Starline is by far the best brand.

Get it while you can......
Take what you can get right now but definately order the Starline; there is none better. I've never used Magtech but it's probably decent. I use just about everything, even some old balloon-head stuff that I reserve for real BP. So far I've never had a case separate at the cannelure and I shoot more 45 Colt than everything else combined except perhaps .22 rimfire. I keep loading the cases until they eventually crack at the mouth usually after a great many loadings. I had a box of new Federal factory ammo that had several cases split down one side on the first firing. Federal had me send the whole box of fired brass back to them to inspect and they sent me some new ammo for my trouble. I haven't had any problems with their brass since then.

Federal used to be rated as best in .45 Colt, then writers started saying that Win was best. I've used them all, but like everyone is telling you, Starline makes an awfully good product, and its customer service is great to deal with!

+1 for Starline brass, its great.
Winchester brass hangs up in my Lee manual primer and is difficult to remove from it. Don't know why, but it sure does' happen. RP is good too. haven't tried any others. Roger

I have to agree with the starline.
While I haven't reloaded any 45LC yet. I have used 44 mag and 357 mag and have been pleased.
