Question About Announcement
I thought I clicked onto the semi-auto forum and saw an announcement which began about members posting in the wrong area of the forums. I went back to make sure I had clicked in the right forum, clicked it again, and the message was gone. Is there a link to it so that I can read it?
Thanks. |

If you didn't dismiss it by clicking on the red X, it should reappear the next time you enter any of the handgun forums. Please let us know if it doesn't.

No problem, here is the text. Probably good to have it available anyway since others may do the same.
******************************* Everyone who posts in the handgun forums, we need your help We need your help to ensure that TFL's handgun forums remain one of the top firearms discussion destinations on the Web. Over the past few months, a small but increasing number of members, old and new alike, have been starting new threads and not paying attention to the forum in which they're posting. This has resulted in staff spending more and more time dealing with misplaced threads to the point where it's becoming a real burden. TFL started three separate handgun forums some years ago because handguns are a popular topic of discussion. But in order for the three handgun forums to work effectively, threads must be posted in the correct forum. The forum descriptions are short, sweet, and quite indicative of what threads should be in each. General Handguns - A wide open area for Handgun posts that don't fit well in the Revolver or Semiauto Forums. Ammunition selection to shooting technique and more. The Revolver Forum - For those who feel that "Wheelguns Rule", you've found a home. The Semiauto Forum - From the 1911 to the latest concept semiauto. Your input and questions are always welcome. So... Starting this coming week (4 April 2011), threads that have been posted in the wrong handgun forum will, at the discretion of the moderator, be closed or deleted. Obviously we don't want to do this, and the best way to keep this from happening? When you post in the handgun forums, you need to think about your post's primary subject and where it would be most appropriately posted. If your thread is closed or deleted, you are perfectly welcome to repost it in the CORRECT forum. But, if you insist on routinely posting threads in the wrong forums, expect direct contact from a moderator. Finally, we know that there are threads that can legitimately be posted in more than one forum. Most of these are questions regarding handguns and the law. Just remember - you'll never go wrong posting a legal question about handguns in our Law and Civil Rights forum. Thanks, Handgun Forums staff |
