Bud's Gun Shop

I am very disappointed by Bud's Gun Shop's customer service.

I recently bought a set of CZ 452 scope rings from Bud's, but when they arrived yesterday, they were not CZ 452 rings. The rings are marked CZ 527 and the paper backing inside the package is also marked CZ 527. However, a stick-on label on the outside of the package says CZ 452.

It did not seem like a big deal; Bud's had shipped the rings based on the inaccurate outside label. I emailed Bud's to get return information.

Bud's response was "You would need to contact CZ, they will send you the right rings, because we do not take out the rings, they come straight from the manufacturer, so if you have any problems, contact us and we will help you all we can."

I did contact CZ and they graciously agreed to exchange the rings. Thanks, Bud's, for your lack of customer service.

Man, that's a pain. I'm glad you posted this because I've considered dealing with Bud's. I think I'll pass.

Just curious.......just what didn't Bud's do that you expected of them?

Didn't they tell you how to resolve the problem, and it was resolved?

Bud's should have exchanged them for free without him having to contact CZ.

I agree 100% on that one. They should have shipped a new one out right away and issued a RMA for him right to CZ.

As a seller, if I sold an item A and it wasn't the item A promised because the guy who sold it to me screwed up, I am still obliged to make it right or give a refund.

If I said, it's not my fault because that was the way it was sold to me and you have to go to the guy who sold it to me, I'm passing on the responsibility of making things right to the buyer even though it was my responsibility as a seller to make sure that the buyer got what he paid for.

If I can keep on passing the buck(responsibility) to other people instead of owning it myself, then the whole issue of contract becomes meaningless when buying or selling.
