Which Load For Home Defense ?
Which 00 buck would be best for home defense in my Mossberg 500, 20" barrel ? Is there a benefit to tactical buckshot ? More than one person has recomended it for hd. The Federal Tactical 00 buck is rated at a lower velocity than the regular buck (1145 ft/sec vs. 1325 ft/sec) and has fewer pellets. Why would less velocity and less pellets be better ?

There is a huge archive of threads along these lines. Over penetration and intended use seem to be the keys.
Tactical buck gets high marks for less recoil and great patterns. Feel free to run a search.... Giz
