Ellis Brothers Shotgun

I inherited a Shotgun several years ago and am considering selling it, but before I do I would like to find out more history about it.

Its an Ellis brothers side by side. I vagely remember someone telling me that it is one of a pair made and there was once and article written about the 2 guns.

Can anyone help me or suggest places to visit to find out a bit more?

Thank you in advance for any replies.

I have seen the name before, google it, or you could send a PM to Tamara on of the staff here who basically knows everything about historic firearms.

Are you sure it is Ellis Brothers? There is a company in Spartanburg SC by the name of Ellet Brothers that sold doubles under their own name. They are a pretty big wholesaler that carried a wide range of brands, including their own.

There was an Ellis Brothers gunmaker in Birmingham England. A quick search did not turn up a history on them.

Just for your info, this may be the correct place to try. I'd bet they could at least help you with some info.

Ellett Brothers, 267 Columbia Ave, Chapin, SC 29036 -- 1-800-845-3711
