Dating Springfield trapdoor

I have recently aquired, a 1873 Trapdoor, can anyone help date the of mfg. serial number is 169664. Thanks

Flayderman says sometime between 1879 (sn 100,000) and 1885 (sn 280,000).
Sorry I can't pin it down any closer.
