Need to Buy a Case Trimmer

Looking at these two case trimmer kits. Anyone have experience with either of these two? Looking for a trimmer to set trim length to a specified length on cases and will be used for 308 and AR 223 brass

Only thing I can think of is the Forester does not have to have shellholders like the Hornady.....

I have the Hornady Cam Lock and use it for .308 and .270 and that's about it.
I love it!

For .222 and .223 I'm using the RCBS Trim Pro-2.

I have the RCBS Trim Pro 2 and the 3 way cutterhead that trims, chamfers, and deburrs all at once. I really like combining all three bothersome and time consuming actions all in one.

Wilson Case Trimmer

This is my favorite. It is a super accurate trimmer which is datum'd correctly. That is it cuts perpendicular to the chamber walls.

Most others cut parallel to the case head which is not really guaranteed square to the chamber walls.

Does not use collets and would be about same price as the Forster

Any thoughts on this one?

I also have the Forster. I trim 223, 22-250 and 762x39 with it. Very consistent. Very easy to use. Much easier than the hand trimmer ive been using for ever.

lee's system works well...accurate with no adjustments necessary, ready for a power drill set-up, inexpensive. got two foresters but use the lee almost exclusively.

If you want the very best and can afford it, go with the Wilson. Sinclair makes a few goodies for the Wilson if you feel the need for those, but that trimmer set the standard bar extremely high back in the day.

If you just want an excellent trimmer, then the Hornady, Forester and others will do what needs done.

I've used my Forster for 40 years. It's a finely machined tool that was obviously built to last. Forster now makes a power adaptor for it and even better, now has a three-way cutter for the most popular calibers. I have one in .223, .243, and .30. Now trimming, chamfering, and deburring is a single step....with the power adaptor, a very fast single step.

Wilson's are also good tools. Just slower.

When you get tired of hand cranking like I finally did after 38 years, you may find a desire to do this: (Click the picture below)
