should i buy this O/U

i have a chance to buy used o/u for $200, but i can't find anything about it in my gun books. It's a Investarms S.P.A. 20ga. imported by stile, inc. and the only other marking is that it's made in italy, and it is stamped "sporting clays". it's been shot only a few times. is it crap? is it better or worse than a huglu? thanks.

Is there any way you can shoot this thing before purchase?

If it patterns BOTH bbls where it's supposed to, and you plan on using this for light duty, it MAY be worthwhile. Of course,spare parts and warranty may be a cruel joke, so Caveat Emptor.

Italian guns tend to be better quality than Spanish guns, but the worst of either are egregious and the best are excellent. For $200, my guess is this is not one of the best.

For that price it must be junk.

Take it from someone who has thrown a lot of money after poor O/U's and stay away from it.

Save up for a good Browning, Beretta or SKB.

Its probably junk. The facts that 1. you can't find it in the gun books and 2. No one here has leapt to its defense do not bode well.

However...

I'm not sure where you are buying it. This can make all of the difference in the world. If you are buying it from a gun shop, from someone who knows guns, or from an online site, I'd say steer clear. If, on the other hand, you are buying it from some little old lady who is selling her late husband's guns, well...it is possible that she has no idea what she has there and is selling way under what it is worth.

Basically, you're trying to figure out if you know more than the seller of the gun.

I *know* I have no clue what its worth, so best of luck to you.

the guy who has it is a good friend of mine, so i could probably shoot it first. i was just worried because i couldn't find any info about it, value, etc.
