JC Higgins Mauser Restock

I have recently acquired a model 50 JC Higgins. Has anyone restocked this rifle with a fiberglass stock? The current stock is fairly handsome, but lacks comfort and robustness. I tried to swap a laminated stock I had on a browning with an FN action onto the jc higgins, and it wouldn't easily fit.

Any ideas? If worst comes to worst I'll be doing a little inletting on the old laminated stock.

It's supposed to be a commercial model 98 action. You might try an Interarms Mark X stock.Should be close.

Anyone tried to put one of these rifles in a Bell and Carlson, Hogue Overmold, or McMillan stock?
