Old to many of you, but new to me...

Well, I bit the bullet, so to speak, and joined the local Aikido Dojo. As some of you may know, I have been practicing Muay Thai for 8+ years, but, due to a lack of a sparring partner, have slacked off the last three, leaving this last year almost completely without training. Three years and some thirty pounds after my prime, I found myself throwing drunks out of bars on the weekend for extra cash. This brings me to my current situation.

Between the two choices available (Aikido & Shorin-Ryu Karate) I chose Aikido to expand on some of my defensive techniques. I have already learned a wrist lock that will be useful in my job. Other than that, it was a lot of tumbling and falling, which I expected the first day.

If you folks would humor me by taking my little poll, I would appreciate it.
