Need some help finding this mount?
While in Montana I saw a mount of a whitetail deer, where the bucks head was turned and and tilted backward slightly and he was licking a branch. I was just wondering if anyone else has seen this mount and would happen to have a picture I could refer to for my taxidermist. My dad was fortunate enuf to take a very nice buck yesterday and I am desprately searching for the form for this mount. thanks dw

Mounts like you mention have become increasingly popular. Some of us are old enough to remember when most game was mounted "zombie" style and you still see some old and novice mounts.
Any good taxidermist has probably done and seen many of the type you describe. Personally, I like to have my trophies mounted in a pose that reflects what they were doing when I took them or some way that helps me remember the details of the hunt. |
