Mosin Rear Sight help!
Hello all. I have a Mosin-Nagant 91/30 that I put a Brasstacker See-through Scout Mount and scout scope on.
I'd like to remove the mount and scope and return it to original, but I lost the rear sight base pins! I checked my schematic from Numrich and they don't even list the rear sight base pins as a part of the rifle, only the trigger pin. Does anybody know where I can get a couple of correct size pins to put the rear sight base back on after I take out the scope mount's bolts that hold it all together now? Are they the same size as the trigger pin? I never compared them before they got lost. Thanks in advance for any help/tips |

If you can't find a pin, you can get the whole assembly for $15:

ok just calm down.
you could look into "buymilsurplus.com" i have lost a pins on my mosin and had to buy replacements (stupid trigger pin) they have good prices. and something to say about the brass stacker. i have one and you may need to get new screw threads that lock the mount on. the ones brass stacker give you arnt very strong and can snap on occasion. also for best scope mounting you will need low rings, and may need to cut, the front off the mount , so as to drop the scope lower, for better sighting.(what most have done but just something i thought i should point out)

Thank you for the link Duzell. I ordered two of the correct pins for less than $11.00 after shipping.
For clarification, I don't have any issues with the BrassStacker mount. It wors great when fitted according to their instructions. I'm just not that enamored with having a long-eye-relief scope. I'm getting a dedicated target rifle to scope in the more conventional way in the near future and figured I'd rather have the Mosin back in Original Condition (well minus some polishing and sanding of certain parts, of course) for plinking and historical interest. |
