Lee Die set

Can Lee die set work in a Hornady LNL bushing? Tired of waiting on Hornady for my die sets and looking at Lee for my Hornady single stage press.

Watch the video and read the comments...may help.

What I have found is that some people just blast things they don't like and it makes it hard to get at the truth. So depending on what type of re-loader (competition or plinker) you might find different answers. As well with the pistol vs. rifle dies as well.

But from My experience, I have used my friends Hornady LNL with LEE 9mm Carbide dies with no issues. If you are just starting out wish to make plinking loads, you should be fine with LEE and maybe they are not quite to par with re-loaders who shoot competition for example, but they are fine for normal reloading IMO.

PS> Sorry the Video says they work fine as well as a few commenters there but some say they have issues with how they work and even rumors of not threading in them, but they do. Sidetracked.... sorry

7/8" X 14 threads are 7/8" X 14 threads no matter who makes them. I use Lee equipment, including dies and they do a great job. 1000s of rounds and never any issues.

Yes. The LEE dies will fit into LNL bushings and will work on the Hornady press.

They will thread in with no problems.

I can't say on a single stage LnL, but I found the Lee dies I had (no real issue with Lee dies from me) were a little too short to really work well in the LnL AP.

Did they work? Sure - but because the die bodies on Lee dies are typically shorter than most other brands, there were precious few threads left to use the lock nut on to set the die in place. I ended up having to check my ammo more than I liked doing.

When I used them in my RCBS single stage without any bushings, they worked just fine and I loaded many thousands of rounds without any problems.

My LEE 38 S&W die set was a tad short, but they did work .... for me. this is the only set of LEE dies I use.

One advantage of sticking with the Hornady is, 100 free XTP bullets with each die set.
