Ithica Model 37

Anyone know where to buy different barrels for the "old" Ithica 37 20 ga. My kid is playing around with trap and I thought about giving her one of mine but I'd like to put a longer barrel(28"?) with a rib on it. Thanks for any help.

Gun Parts Corp oughta have some, but have you tried Ithaca? I believe bbls had to be fitted on the older 37s.

Also, if your kid is young, the shorter bbl may be the better choice. Older, get him/her a heavier gun. 37s are wonderful field guns but trap guns need lots of weight for that bbl inertia and to soak up kick.

thanks

Thanks for the input, guys. I remember reading somewhere that the original (50's)Ithica made guns were different enough from the later ones that barrels didn't interchange. I'll try the Cabelas catalog and Gun Parts.

I ordered a barrel from Ithaca on 1/2/02 and it still has not arrived. I've emailed them twice; once before ordering and once to check on the status. The replies have been very nice and they did say that the barrel would be shipped this month. They have also not charged my credit card . I checked the Gun Parts website and their prices were about the same.

The Hastings barrels aren't available in the length I wanted (<20").
