If you could only have one gun...

What would it be? Just curious as to what other people might say.

Of the guns I actually own? XDM9. Would work for utility, self defense, could even be concealed carry. Fun to shoot at the range, 19rd capacity. Extremely common caliber, would work well as a SHTF gun.

honestly its not my favorite gun but i would have to say my ar15. you can hunt with it, self defense, and if prices ever stabilize target practice

That's hard to say....

If it had to be a handgun, my CZ75 compact
If it was to be a rifle...this is where things get extremely tricky. Probably my custom FAL or one of my AK' both are reliable and ammo can be found for either of them just about anywhere.

You said one gun but...

You didn't say one barrel. So, I'd take my Glock 22 with additional factory .357sig barrel and a lone wolf 9mm conversion barrel. 3 guns in one.

12 Gauge Shotgun......
Hunt for small ground game and birds with light shot.
Hunt for larger game with slugs.
More than adequate Protection/Home Defense.
Easily Re-loadable.
My Greatgrandfather protected and fed his family of 8 with only a double barrel shotgun, and this was before the newer 1 ounce slugs that can be very accurate up to 75 yards on larger game. He also didn't have tactical lights, lasers sights, holographic sights, quad rails or night vision!

I have a Glock 19, but I rather get it in 40 cal if I was to own only one gun, better stopping power, could hunt with it. Add a scope/rail system, extended barrel. Have large 20+ round magazines for it also. This way I could conceal, carry it with me and never leave it behind.

AC556. It's got a 13" barrel, folding stock, semi, triburst and full-auto. I can easily find replacement barrels. Not quite a pistol, not quite a carbine - just the right size!

Haha sorry if this has come up before (which I'm sure it has) but I'm new here and just thought it'd be a fun question. Honestly I've never owned a handgun yet so I can't speak from experience there but I do own a few shotguns and an ar and I've got to say, even for that casual shooting at whatever is crawling around in the trees my 12 guage gets used way more so I guess I'd have to go with that

But then again I like watching something disappear more than I like punching a hole in it from 300 yards but hey I know a few guys who love it!

I'd go for a military bolt rifle if I could only have one. preferably a mauser 98k, or SMLE. I'm not a fan of mosins, but I wouldn't complain about having one.

They're good at distance, good for hunting, and are built like clubs. they also have spikey attachments, and with practice will do nicely for things that are close, or rather, too close.
