Replacement barrel

Friend has a Browning A-Bolt in .270. Needs a new barrel. What is the easiest way to get this done for a reasonable price? Match grade barrel not required. His son is going to use it. Your help is appreciated.

First, check out Browning Service Centers:

http://www.browning.com/services/arcs/index.asp

They will generally give you a better deal than the local gunsmith. AFAIK, there are no pre-threaded barrels for the A-Bolt, and if you just want a replacement (nothing fancy in weight or contour), a service center should do a good job.
