Does anyone shoot comp with revolvers?

I was wondering if anyone shoots uspsa or the like with revolvers. And also what sights do you use? What holster?

IDPA Stock Service Revolver (SSR) and USPSA. I've focused entirely on IDPA lately, but will start USPSA again.

My IDPA rig is a 4" 686, FO front sight (EGW on my 1° gun, HiViz on my backup), Millet rear sight (1° gun only), CompTac holster, ReadyTac speedloader holders and cut down JetLoaders.

My USPSA rig is a 5" 625 with HiViz FO front sight, Bladetech holster, North Mountain moonclip holder.

As far as the guns themselves, conversion to DAO, an action job, and chamfering of the chamber mouths are standard.

I used two guns mainly, a 5 in. 625-2 with plain black sights in an old Safariland speed holster. The other gun is a 4 in. S&W Model 57 (.41 Mag) with the same sight setup and holster. I love that 57.

I use a S&W 327 in .357 mag for Steel Challenge. The light weight makes it fast on target and fast for transitions between targets.

I like the EasyHit fluorocent front sights.

BTW, I shoot .38 Short Colt loads in competition. A Berry's 125 HP at 775 fps does the trick - accurate and low recoil.

I shot my club's three gun matches using a S&W 627PC, the S&W holster for same and Trijcon Night Sights. Even though it held 8 rounds, the .45acp shooters got to start with 9. I always had more reloads than the other guys. It did give me good practice with my primary carry revolver at the time though.

I shoot IDPA with the revolver, a 625JM and a 586. I also shoot with autos but I think the 625JM is the funnest of all.

I compete in USPSA.

When using revolvers I've competed with 4" GP100s, 5.5" Redhawks in 41 and 44 Magnum, and 45 Colt, and a 7.5" Redhawk in 357 Magnum.
I draw the GPs from a very old Ernie Hill holster, and the Redhawks all get/got drawn from a custom Milt Sparks HSR .
I use HKS speedloaders exclusively.

I haven't 'shot revolver' since strong-side injuries in the mid-2000s, but I think I'll be trying again come next warm weather ('cause when it's really cold and snowy the speedloaders get froze up after hitting the ground and it's just a complete pain to warm them up enough for reuse).

I shoot IDPA with a few different revolvers. They are stock and two with adjustable sites and two with fixed notches. I really don't shoot them to win but to get trigger time with some EDC snubbies or house guns.

Winning would be impossible as we have a national champ in our revolver group, comes in second after Jerry M. Nice guy.

Some folks shoot 625s with moon clips and gussied up. Nice guns.

I shoot USPSA only with a Model 610 revolver and moon clips. Holster, no clue who made it, but many of my S&W's fit it. Never used anything else for USPSA. Sometimes I even use it for Knockdown Steel just to be different!

I shoot IDPA with 2 revolvers.

3" model 13 with fixed sights in an old El Paso pancake holster.
640 PRO, I just use the same holster.

But of course I will never win a match.

IDPA with a revolver is just fun. As for winning, you shoot against others shooting revolvers in your class, win some lose some. I shot in the Texas State Match this year, came in last in my class( there was 3 in ESR). But I had a ball, 10 stages and a lot of rounds down range with about 100 other shooters, all good people. At the local club I don't always come in last, I even win some time.

I dabble in IDPA ESR division, with a S&W Model 22. The sights are stock; square notch in the top strap, and a "half-nickel" front. I use a Don Hume 721 OT holster. It's not a great holster for competition, as there's no reinforcement at the mouth, so getting the cylinder past the opening can be a hassle, and almost impossible to do one-handed.
