looking for the part number or correct front sight height for this rifle in 30-30 cal

that is not the right sight, way to short. this is a 30-30 bi centenial model

Does your sight dovetail directly into the barrel?

yes, it does, I think its .520, but not sure. the dot portion is broken, and if I measure what is left its about .450

Get a front sight blade .500" high with a "W" (wide) .531' DOVETAIL, SO THE SIGHT'S LOWER PART 9dovetail) will fill the barrel's dovetail slot, side-to-side & look "right".
