Paul Gardner's article, Al Tarmiyah Firefight!

Thank you for printing Mr. Gardner's article. He made some very good points about the deficiency in his original training. It's funny but we've studied handgun operations for years including loading procedures, failure drills and to be aware of the threat(s) around us. As Mr. Gardner points out, when it comes to long arms, that is neglected. Hopefully the Corps and the Army takes note and begins instructing our marines and soldiers in tactical reloading.

I was completely absorbed by his story. Great article and lessons learned the hard way. Gotta respect Paul Gardner's attitude.

Yep - awesome article. I also really enjoyed Pat Roger's. His comment on Condition 3 carry was an ouch for some of the posts we've had on the issue. Bam!

I also enjoyed the SWAT show's Magpul segment on carbine use. I'm glad those guys still have knees that work. Ouch, also.

Every time I see a carbine show - I'm tempting to trade my standard ol' AR for a M4 configuration. Seems much more user friendly in size.

Appreciate the comments, guys.

In an upcoming issue Paul has an AAR on a Magpul carbine course he partricipated in--from his wheelchair. Being in courses with people who have whined about sore feet, the heat, the cold, bugs, etc., etc., his article will be a breath of fresh air and a real eye opener for many folks.
