Ruger Series

Do you think ruger would ever make a larger caliber (.40, .45, 9mm, etc...) of their mark series? I would buy one in a heartbeat!

If you're referring to the Mark I,II,III Rimfire Pistols, then no. They're blow back actions. I can't see anyway for Ruger to redesign it to accommodate a bolt of larger mass with a heavier recoil spring to safely handle centerfire pressures without the upper receiver becoming big and ugly like a HiPoint. After such modifications I doubt you'd buy it as it wouldn't resemble a Mark series pistol anymore.

I agree with NYPD,
a MKIII type pistol developed around a centerfire cartridge would be incredibly bulky and in no way effective.

It was done back around 1890 something by Hiram Maxim and reports were that no one wanted to shoot it after a couple of rounds. The gun vented gas before unlocking (sort of) by way of two vents in the sides of the receiver. It was apparently a lot of gas. It was a .455 Cal. and looked just like a Ruger Mk II on steroids. I believe they only made 2 or 3 of them.
