You (we) are about 5 yrs late for cheap anything related to shooting.

Shooda dones are great. I shooda bought a boatload of bullets 5 yrs ago.
Would have better investment than 401K or CDs by far.

Ever thought about casting 30 cal bullets. They make for some dern cheap good practice bullets.

Plus at reasonable ranges they make good hunting bullets.

I've shot a ton of them out of my M1 & M1A. Dern near as cheap as 22s.

These bullets from Widener's aren't bad. Prvi 145 gr M80 ball projectiles. 18.0 cents/bullet shipped. Non-magnetic projectile.

http://www.wideners.com/itemdetail.c...ir=278|281|727

The only problem is 30.06 and .308 Win are difficult to use with one cannelured bullets. The cannelure is in the right place for one and not the other. In 30.06 I use 150 gr M2 ball projectiles. I get them at polygunbag.com. Nice bullets, a little sealant left, but they shoot great groups out of my M1 Garands and 03a3's. 15.5 cents/bullet shipped.

I only shoot 168 and 175gr projectiles out of my .308 Win rifles. I've shot the Prvi bullets and they are great for plinking. 1.5 MOA with good load development.

But in five years, we'll be bragging about how cheap we got things in 2010.

Cheap .308 bullets

Hi , there fellow shooters..

Lately things have been a little better than before....

I shoot .308 Winchester and found a place that sells / has FNM " Portugese " military ball ammo for sale.... at least a few month ago.... Packed 200 rd in mil battle packs.... only problem , some rounds may have verdigris on them..... Purchased 400 rds sifted thru them and culled out 40 - 50 rds. that the brass case was not up to snuff to shoot.... It's berdan primed , and non corrosive.... Those other rounds were nice and clean.... what i shot , tickled my fancy... sub 1 inch group at 100 yrds... thou its does stick to a magnet , they look to be copper covered steel cored.... bullet weight is 147 gr...... again if you shoot .308 and other .30 cal rifles do what i did... shoot the good stuff , pull the rest apart .... load to your likings.... price was .36 cents per round... which comes up to $ 7.20 box of 20 rds...... not the greatest but not bad when you can't find an alternative.....FYI only.......

The website is....................... WWW.SAMCOGLOBAL.COM
TEL # 1-800-554-1618

Jake at RMR might be able to help you out.
http://www.shop.rmrbullets.com/

He does not have them listed on his web site but I have seen them and he was offering me a heck of a deal on them. Shoot him an email or call him and see what he can do for you.

If you're looking for really cheeeeeep bullets for plinking, and you have a good safe place to shoot these, Poly Gun Bag has .30 cal M25 tracer bullets for 4.5 cents each if you can use 4,000 at a pop. Quantity of 1,000 is still only 5 cents each.

http://www.polygunbag.com/.30CalSurp...argerView.html

These light at about 75 yards or so and do NOT hurt your gun or barrel. I have loaded thousands of these to shoot out of a machine gun and as long as you have a good sandy or clay backstop with no dry grass, they will do just fine. If your backstop is rocky or full of metal or anything else that might cause the bullets to ricochet you might have a problem with fire. Can't beat the price. If interested, better buy while you can. These are the LAST of the cheap bullets!
