How many guns do you carry for CCW? - Page 3

I pocket carry a Kel Tec p3at every day due to the need to deep conceal at work but at night and weekends I carry one of 3 larger carry guns and just keep the pocket gun there at all times. So I guess my answer is one or two depending on the time/day of the week.

always one, usually two, occasionally three...

i always carry either my Colt New Agent 1911, or my Keltec PF9

or usually i carry both, as the colt is in a shoulder rig and the keltec in the belt with a belt clip

three on the rarest occasion, more because im trying out different carry options, than out of some paranoia

i always have two when im working at the gunsmith or in the retail shop,

when i carry my colt, in its shoulder rig, i carry two extra mags on the other side of the rig- i do this more out of weight distribution than the "NEED" of having 22 rounds.

I always carry one spare mag in my pocket for the Keltec- when i carry the PF9 of course

with or without the colt i do some times carry my sp101 in my back pocket instead of the keltec, but no extra rounds because its hard to carry extra speed loaders and not look bulky

Exactly my point. If you're not training for those situations with your primary carry, then IMO, you should take the money you would pay for a BUG and buy ammo for your primary, and practice, practice, practice. Get good at clearing malfunctions and weapon retention. Sharpen up your situational awarness while you're at it. JMO.

It depends on the gig. Working police are most likely to need a backup. A regular Joe or Jane ought to make do with one--a good one. Be proficient with it, and forget it's there until you need it.

When I carry - 1.

I'm not a cop so I don't go contact people who might want to wrestle me. And I go to bed at 9 o'clock, long before the goblins are generally out and about :-)

(can't carry at work nor park on their property with a gun in the car so.... too bad for me.)

73 never know when they will fail...... course never had anyone try to mug me..... no dark alleys...... but I did see a utube about a coyote was attacking a guys boot.....

I only carry one gun at a time/with one reload, I am not a cop, thank God (to old and fat).

I carry when ever I legally can, and when not at work (stupid rules), but after 25 years I am not about to give up that gig just yet.

Here in Virginia the Permit carry concealed reads "Permit to carry a concealed handgun" The A is implied to be a single weapon. But I have no issues with carry only a single gun, I do not feel out gunned, if I feel I need more ammo, I would carry extra magazines.

I usually carry a G21 and often have a PF-9 on BUG detail, Plus all the other things of everyday life, knife,phone,flashligh,spare ammo. Thank goodness for maxpedotion man purses

Do like John Bianchi did some years ago. He concealed something like 30 guns at one time for a photo shoot. He had them stuck in various holsters, pockets, in his socks, on a string around his neck, and where ever he could think of. Most of it concealed by a dinner jacket. The guns holsters and all had to have weighed 75 pounds.

I mentioned this on another thread hoping someone else could find a picture of it. I still can't find one.

my strong side primary may be a P239/40 IWB or a K-T P380.
my weak side secondary is almost always a 642 in a vest or coat pocket.

when events will promise to only come at me from one direction than i will agree with grumpybutt. and when BG's promise to not go where i 'think' it safe to go and promise not to visit me where i 'think' its safe to live, than ronbert I'll carry one.

If your not using a Virginia permit that rule does not count.

I would probably only carry one but i can see a need for two. if you happen to drop your gun because u got hit by a bullet or somthing along them lines, then u could take cover without haveing to pick that gun up and use your second gun to get the job done.

I cannot think of a scenario where a CHL holder would need a second or third gun. I am not talking about an off duty LEO who does, in my view, have a greater responsibility.

At the distances and times when an attack would likely occur I don't think you would have that time to go to a second gun.

We are not premitted to carry more than one gun in NM, but I would not carry a second anyway.

I dont leave the house with less then two guns on me. Does carrying more then two guns seem paranoid? NAH! Carry as many guns as you can comfortably conceal.
