SWAT/ERT Medical Kits

I am the director of a large air/ground rural ambulance service that provides medical support for our regional SWAT/ERT teams. I am not one of the medics assigned to this duty (I am a flight medic by training) but I have good reason to suspect our tactical med kits are not "state of the art". I determined that the team does not have a preferred content list. Can anyone provide reference to past SWAT issues where this topic may have been addressed? How about a recommended contents list from any RKI's? TIA

I dont have the reference to the SWAT magazine you are looking for, but I am on a SWAT team in Northern California. We all have some immediate trauma kits. We picked up a few things from other teams, our tactical medics, our local Air National Guard PJ's and make sure everyone has some guaze, an airway, tourniquettes, and celox (like quick clot, but not heat induced so it doesnt burn). I think we gave everyone an Israeli bandage and one of those jelly bandages for a sucking chest wound. We tried to keep it small, light, and useful so everyone will keep it on their vest.

I wold take a look at North American Rescue Products if you haven't already. I'm a Medic in the U.S. Army and we're begining to use more and more of their products. They've got a lot of great products and are coming out with more all the time. They also have a lot of kits already set up for SWAT teams.

Good Luck
