Suppressor legal question

If a buddy wants to borrow one of my suppressed guns to pop a few armadillos in his yard, is this legal? Would I have to be present? If he gets stopped by police for something, could we get in trouble, even if he has it with my permission and has my tax stamp with him?

You have to be in the immediate area. He can shoot it all day long as long as you're with him.

Aaah, the benefits of Corp., let any member take NFA stuff with them.

Somebody steals your suppressor and they happen to get a copy of your paperwork? Are the police supposed to just guess who's supposed to have it? Don't think so.. Also, I don't know many cities that allow discharging a firearm within the city limits, at least out west here. I'm sure there are some, but that could cause you to loose it! Don't take any chances, is the best bet..

The Form 4 has your name, address, and photo on it. It won't match his ID.

ETA: For a corp-owned suppressor, he'd have to show documentation he was an officer of the corporation.

Why pass up an opportunity to join him? (if its not wrong to shoot out in the open where you live) I would go and bum ammo off him being that you are providing him with the suppressor. Even Steven.

You do not have to be an officer just an authorized employee or partial owner of the corp and are in possesion for the Corporations benifit.

more devil in the details....

- if your friend is otherwise prohibited from possessing firearms, doesn't matter
if you're with him or not. the prohibition is still in effect

- if your local laws prohibit suppressor ownership or use....but your can is
grandfathered, your friend may still be unable to exercise control over your
suppressor.

i'm sure there are more caveats if i think hard....
