I just bought a Kimber Classic Stainless Target. I have shot around 100 rounds with no malfunctions of any kind. Accuracy is good. However today I noticed a small nick, almost like a flake of metal missing, in the rifling groove. Accuracy seems not to be affected and the nick is about 1/4 inch from the end (exit). I plan to take the gun back to the dealer Monday. What could have caused this? Is this something the gun should go back to the factory for? I have fired FMJ, Federal Hydr-Shok, and homemade cast lead. Could this have been caused by a particular bullet?

Info is greatly appreciated as this is my new baby

Nothing you fired could have done that... probably will not affect anything... but no excuse for poor quality control. If Kimber gets enough weapons back from dealers and dealers start getting pissed off then Kimber will be forced to clean up its act.

Send it back!
