Two intense days of state-of-the-art close quarter defense strategies, tactics, and techniques. Learn fully integrated lethal and intermediate force measures both live fire and on the mats. PROTOCOM seamlessly incorporates the three core disciplines most likely to be used in a close defensive encounter: (1) tactical pistol skills, (2) empty-hand combatives, and (3) folding knife tactics. On the range, participants will receive modern Pistolcraft instruction in weapon manipulations, the Dynamic Contact Position, ready positions, fundamental and combative marksmanship, the Standard Defensive Response, open and concealed carry presentations, bilateral shooting skills, and after-action drills. Combatives instruction will include Aggressive Response Tactics, Offensive Direction Techniques, Standing Escapes, Ground Countermeasures vs. Top Control/Mount position attacks, folding knife assaults & manipulations, defense against active edged weapon attacks, using the handgun as a striking, trapping, or grappling tool, and holstered handgun retention tactics. PROTOCOM performance-based testing in both Pistolcraft and Combatives will be conducted for Skill Certification in the 100-Level at no additional cost. Space in this event is limited. Registration deadline is February 9, 2005. Attend this course and the following PROTOCOM 200 for $550.00.

Two more intense days of training building on the 100-Level. In addition to a review of the 100-Level, on the range this course will cover the Failure-to-Stop Response, vertical displacement & the Speed Kneeling position, horizontal displacement & combat side steps, Tactical Reloads, Multiple Threat Response, close quarter ready positions, close quarter/retention shooting techniques, bilateral shooting skills, and kneeling after-action drills. Combatives instruction will include Aggressive Response Tactics, Offensive Direction Techniques, Standing Escapes, Ground Countermeasures for defeating Guard Position attacks, folding knife assault skill-building, defense against active edged weapon attacks, using the handgun as a striking, trapping, or grappling tool, and active handgun retention tactics. PROTOCOM performance-based testing in both Pistolcraft and Combatives will be conducted for Skill Certification in the 100 and 200 levels at no additional cost. Space in this event is limited. Registration deadline is February 9, 2005. Attend this course and the preceding PROTOCOM 100 for $550.00.

PROTOCOM 200 may be taken without attending 100 first. Only prerequisite includes a basic education in firearms safety and handling.
