22-250 Load
You didn't mention what bullet you were planning on using. It sure would make it easier to help you out. Depending on the bullet, I might be able to help you out. My real problem is I have never fired a 22-250 that has kicked me at all. Your gun weight maybe the problem or lack of it.
Have a nice day.

For most, H380 is the go to powder.

22-250
H380 is what I have used for over 30 years. Burns clean, easy on the powder measure.

22-250 powder
I have had very good luck with Hodgon Varget. It was recommended to me by a competition shooter that helped me work out a load for my browning varmint rifle. I have also used it in my 308 target-varmint bull barrel. Both guns with this powder will shoot one hole 5 shot groups if I do my part @ 100 yards. Keep in mind these guns are bull barrels and maybe some other powder might have done the same but this powder is less affected by temperature change. Hope this helps.

I've used H380, IMR 3031, and Varget for the last 6 years in the 22-250. I've been shooting 22-250 in Factory Varmint Benchrest for a while now. My first choice would be Varget. The next best choice would be Varget. After that I'd pick Varget. Hands down. It gives the most consistent velocities out of my gun especially with temperature extremes. It burns cleaner than the others too.
The other nice thing about Varget is it's extremely versatile. It's the best shooting powder in 3 other cartridges I load for. |

I used to use IMR3031, but I load WW760 now. That way I can be lazy and throw charges, rather than weigh and trickle every single one. It's also very accurate.

I like 32 grains of 3031 with a 52 grain HPBT. Groups are consistently 1/2 " or better in my 40XB.

H380, WW760, and IMR 4320 are my picks.

I really like the 22-250 and have been reloading and shooting it for about 28 years. The powders I have found that worked well in it are:
H414 If temperature sensitivity is not a concern. BL(C) 2 H380 3031 4895 4064 Varget All these under a Sierra 52gr BTHP Match bullet do well. I like Winchester Brass and Remington Match primers. I shoot a Remington 788, M700 Varmint and a Ruger 1V all have a 1-14 twist barrel.

Mine likes 3031 but like they say, it depends on your rifle. I tried varget, H322, and H380 first.
