Help With California Ammo Laws

Hey guys whats up, I recently moved to California temporarily for a contract job and of course brought a couple firearms with me. Rumor has it though that I need a state ID to buy ammo. Is this true or partly true.
any help is greatly appreciated.

That's a new one to me, unless it went into effect some time in the last six hours. I just picked up a box this afternoon. Paid cash, even.

We did have some proposed legislation to that general effect last year, but it died in committee.

It varies from city to city. In Sacramento I had to show ID. Out of the city, not. All you can do is try...

Just give it a shot. Worst they're going to do is roll their eyes with you due to a stupid law.

The Best Help

From your post it seems you are in California for a short time.

For others, the best help for the stupid laws in the Golden State comes from cars. Get in one and drive until you a sign that welcomes you into another state. You will have helped yourself solve the problems from the idiotic laws there.

but thats too long to go without shooting at least paper.
probably should have brought more ammo with me in the first place.
But I'll give it a shot and see what happens
Thanks

I'm 19 so I get carded when I buy ammo from walmart, but when I'm with my dad and I buy ammo we never get carded. I'm guessing you can :P

No, worst advice ever. Quit encouraging them to pollute Nevada. We turned blue for the first time, and I blame the Cali folk running away from their silly socialism laws and such and bring it here....

On second thought, we'll take the shooters, and give 'em back the nambi-pambi liberals.
