What are my options for a pistol-caliber carbine?

I'm trying to figure out a suitable option for a pistol-caliber carbine. Right off the bat, I can't have a Hi-Point, CX4, or Sub2K, seeing as how I live in NY. The ones I've figured out I can probably have are a Ruger Police Carbine 9/40 or a Marlin Camp Carbine 9mm. And, of course, these are both out of production. I've been watching Gunbroker.com for ones that aren't ridiculously priced. And really, the PC9/40 is the better choice, since the Camp Carbine comes with 12 rd mags, so I'd have to find mags after the fact.

Anywho, if someone has suggestions, or has a Ruger Police Carbine for sale, I'm willing to listen

Your best choice would be to move out of New York

The only other suggestion I can think of right off is the Just right carbine.
http://www.justrightcarbines.com/ I've seen them on GB for $750.

Not really an option right now, but I assure you, as soon as I can, I will Gun owners that are staying in this state aren't doing it from choice.

Those are now illegal in the 'great' state of New York

Some options

One of my favorites is a 454 Puma lever action that is also made in 480 Ruger. These are fairly small carbines even smaller than a 30-30 Winchester. Rossi, I believe, bought out Puma, acouple of years ago and I think stopped making the 480 Ruger.

In case you are not familiar with these cartridges, the factory kicks like a .44 Mag which is also available in carbines but its fps is much higher as is its penetration. By comparison, a .44 in the same round will go about a foot in an aspen log that is three feet in length and a .454 will go completely through it.

The .480 by comparison is a much easier bullet to fire and I think it kicks much lesss than a .44, more like a .45 colt which is also available in carbines.

Lately we are seeing more and more .357 in carbines but I've not had a chance to fire one.

But I have a question for you. I understand that New York is working on being a gun free zone. I just bought an assult rifle (.458 Socum) from a retire NYC cop who can't even have one!

What are the new laws that came down by your Governor?

NYSers need to hold Cuomo's feet to the fire over the sneaky way he snuck the new assault ban through the legislature.
Being owned body & soul by Bloomberg is no excuse for such shabby, anti-democratic tactics.

Just before the gun ban fracas, I bought a hi point 995 ts 9mm carbine. I really enjoy carrying it and shooting it. I did notice it is on Feinsteins gun ban list.

Marlin also made a camp .45 that takes 1911 mags, which come in a 7-round capacity. You can also adapt the Hi-Point .45 to take 1911 mags but those have PG's which somehow makes them so much more deadly. It's a good thing you live in NY so you don't have to worry about those dangerous pistol grips or shoulder things that go up.

Maybe get a lever action .357. Aren't those exempt for a 7 round limit?
