I've used the older RCBS hand priming tray based tool that uses regular shellholders. I didn't care for that, as it bound up on me sometimes, the linkage took away the "feel" of the priming, and it was harder to disassemble for cleaning/lubing.
I've broken 1 or 2 Lee Auto Prime (round tray) model thumb levers, but that was after a lot of reloading. Despite the annoying special shellholders, I like the feel and simplicity of those old Auto Primes, and also their speed. Two reside on my bench, one set for large primers, one for small. I have a stock of thumb levers,too, and have learned to keep the linkage well greased.
