.355 vs .356

Most .380 & 9mmbullets I see advertised are .355 but I keep seeing .356 popping up. Whats the deal with this? Is .356 Safe?

.356 diameter bullets were originally used in the .38 ACP and .38 Super. Check the groove diameter of your barrel before ordering bullets.

stans right but the difference may not make a hill of beans.

At one time I was furnishing ammo for some LEs. Some were transitioning from wheels.

We slugged a couple hundred barrels. .357 in Smith and Colt. 9X19 in Browning and Smith.

Barrels from all four types of gun ranged from .3535 to .359. Later found a Colt .357 that had a .353 bore and it was a tackdriver.

If you are going to be picky, going to have to find out what bullet and load YOUR gun likes the best.

The true diameter of jacketed factory 9mm bullets is .3555 (right in between .355 and .356) Some round up, some round down.

TRUE DIAMETER

Miked some "9mm" projectiles; ranged from .3545" to .3578".

I match exact size for my Nowlin match barreled 9x19, otherwise I don't much care..............kinda.............
