Forget about Double Charges, Keith Moon from The Who tripled Charged!!!

I just laughed my @$$ off when I flipped threw the TV this morning. I saw a short clip on MTV about The Who and one of their Live stints on the Smothers Brothers TV show. I never knew the reason Pete Townhend is deaf in one ear was because of this show.

Keith moon used Bullseye Gunpowder to blow up his drum kit during the Who's famous instrument smashing stint. He apparently used 3x's as much powder as he should have and Pete Townshend blamed this incedent for his loss of hearing. Two other members were treated for shrapnel wounds. Didn't this guy O.D. too?

I've lit IMR 4064 and IMR 3031 just to see how they burned outside of a barrel. I was quite surprised at how slow some rifle powders burn. I guess Old Keith knew a thing or two about Pistol powders.

Even with Bullseye or Red Dot gonna need a means of containing the powder to get some pressure build up. Otherwise, they just burn too.

I know of no smokeless powder that will bo BOOM if not contained in some sort of pressure vessel.

They actually had some kind of little cannon inside the bass drum and it was just suppose to make a bang. Not a KABLAAAM

I love those little cheap brass cannons that the discount import places sell. They do come apart right loudly when loaded well. Schrapnel all over the place. Do not try this at home.

"choked on own vomit..."

Which brings to mind the line from Spinal Tap...

"Well, it was never really determined on whose vomit he choked..." :barf:

Kieth 'Moon the Loon' Moon allegedly died from an overdose of alcohol and Mandrax, a UK sedative hypnotic similar to valium.

I think Walt's right

Fella's I think your confusing John Bonham's death with Keith Moon. I remember somet like he O.D. on pills that were suppose to help him quit drinking.

Bullseye doesn't need much containment to go boom. I have done some case forming for wildcats by using bullseye with a cotton wad stuffed in the case neck. Belive it or not it works very well for doing this.

So I would belive it if he had any sort of containment on the powder.
