Gewehr 98m trying to figure out what it is
I have come accrost and interesting gun. It was sold to me as a kar 98k. It has no date or maker on the reciver besides a swastika and A serial number of AL6312. There are also German insignia on the bolt release and what appears to be a Chinese marking on the stock. Any ideas ? I'm leaning towards a Frankenstein.

I think I got it figured out. The sling attachment is on the bottom of the butt stock not the side.

A Kar 98k should have a turned down bolt handle, I believe.
Does the serial number on the bolt match that on the gun?

I've come to the conclusion it's a Chinese gewehr 98m. It had the plant and year removed by Mao.
