Model 700 Feeding Issue

I have a Remington Model 700 VLS in .223. Not every time, but about 50% of the time, it will fail to feed the 4th round. It feeds the 2nd and 4th from the left side. No problem with the 2nd round, it's always the 4th. I've shot exclusively 55gr FMJ or Sierra HPs. Factory ammo and handloads, no real difference.

I was wondering if anyone else has had this occur.

Thanks,
Chris

Check the magazine for something that interferes with the follower sliding up easily. Make sure the magazine spring is not weak or bent so the follower doesn't push the fourth round full against the left rail.

I agree the problem is with the follower or the spring.

Model 700 Feeding Issue Resolved

You all were right on. I contacted Remington, told them the problem, they send me a new mag spring and follower and I put 60 rounds thru my rifle without a hitch.

Thanks,

Don't you just love it when the solution is simple? It isn't always that easy.
