Update on Colt's new Florida location....

www.WFTV.com
The ABC TV station in Orlando Florida put out a new media item about how Colt is moving forward with plans to set up a new plant in central Florida.
Local county officials told the media how new construction will be started in early 2014. Colt's PR office said the delays were due to the change in names/business plans by the company in late 2013.

The new Colt factory will have approx 60 full time staff & produce Colt military products/contract weapons like the M4s & the new USMC sidearm; M45 .45acp.

That's good news to the Orlando area economy.

Thats great! Now I need to find out who the contractor is on the build and get with them to spec my Company's lighting products so I can do a walk through and future follow up tours!!!!
It might be hard to contain my kid in the candy store face though

Colt; Osceola.org MyFlorida.com ...

If you want to check on the new Colt plant, Id suggest contacting Osceola County; www.Osceola.org or maybe the state business development office: www.myflorida.com .
Colt may already have the contracts & plans set up. Like I posted, the big issue seemed to be Colt's restructure in 2013. That slowed down the new Florida location.

Aaron, thats a great idea!

Thanks for the update Clyde. I've been waiting to hear about the progress of their new location. From what I heard, its supposed to be in a small town called Kissimmee , next to the Orlando International airport.

I'll definitely check them out and apply for a job when they open.

From the news report we got it sounds like research and engineering from the statement on salaries of $60,000 which is high for the lovely state of FLA. plus with just 60 openings don't see them doing any manufacturing or assembly work. Just not enough employee's for that.

I'll keep an ear out on any progress. I'm about 30mins from the area, I just have to find out if I can get a 2nd job there.
