pistol case damage - OK to reload?

Just getting started in reloading, as I havent been able to find powder locally until last week...

I have been cleaning some range brass recently in preparation, and noticed that quite a few of the cases have a small dent in the side of the case. I assume this is where the case is hitting the ejection port or similar, as I see a small dent on many .223/5.56 brass as well.

Is it OK to reload this, or should I toss anything like that out?

I can get pictures if needed.

I wouldn't load dented brass. Brass is too inexpensive (or free!) to use any that might cause problems.

Anything that would cause feeding issues would likely getting addressed during sizing. If dents remain they will fire out and be fine.

Size them, shoot them.

Toss brass that has cracks or has primer pockets too large to hold the primer.
If I'm not shooting, I'm reloading.

If I threw away every 5.56 case that had a dent (small) I would few left. If it’s a small rounded dent I use them, it’s only the ones that have a crease or has damaged the brass gets tossed.

Half the .45 ACP brass I pick up at the range has bites from the ejection port. Even if they don't size out completely, they still shoot well. Deep sharp creases are another thing.
