KyJim, thats a good looking setup you have there, do you recall where or who you got it from? Glenn I will know how you feel soon, my oldest will be starting collage next year (got to get the guns while I can).

Thanks. The holster is from Rafter S which has a good reputation for quality but a very poor reputation for service. The mag pouch was from Wilson Combat and the belt from The Beltman.

They are some of the greatest concealed carry guns ever made. However, while thinning down my personal choices, I kept the Walther PPS 9mm over the 3914 that I had. It just filled the bill better for my purposes. It WAS a tough choice, though.

It is a 3rd generation. Third generations were 4 digit numbers, second had 3 and first had 2.

Here's a little information to help identify early vs. late production third gen 3913's: http://smith-wessonforum.com/smith-w...roduction.html

I think they were produced from 90-99, maybe 01...but someone here with more knowledge can clarify for you.

That was the easy method until S&W threw a wrench in the works and created the "value" line of 3rd Gen pistols with 3-digit model numbers.
