Henry Big Boy

Hi all, Im looking into getting the Henry Big Boy chambered in .44, it is important to me for it to be in .44 because I am also thinking about getting a Ruger Blackhawk in .44 and I want to be able buy ammo for both in the same caliber. So anyways back to the Henry I use to own a Winchester 30-30 but did not care for the side plate loading (just preference) so I am thinking the Henry would be a better fit for me. It would be primarily used for white tail hunting and range practice. I hear great things about Henry rifles and there reputation and just wanted some opinions about what yall think about the Big Boy .44 before I pull the trigger to get one.... see what I did there

Re: Henry Big Boy

I have a henry 30-30 and am very happy with it.

I would make the purchase. You won't be disappointed with the quality and the smoothness of the gun.

I had one...

in .357/.38 which I traded for one in .45 LC.

It is a lot bigger than a model .92 or 94.

If you are hunting in heavy brush you might appreciate something lighter.

Having said that I like my .45 but I am not now, never have been and never will be a hunter.

Nothing wrong with hunting. I just don't have the patience.

RED_beard92,
I highly recommend the Henry Big Boy. All of the Henry rifles are a work of art, deadly accurate and very reliable. I used to own a .357 Mag. and it was very accurate. I also owned a .22 Mag. that was the most accurate rifle in that caliber that I've ever owned.
