The tragic thing here is the failure of the state of FL to keep a very violent felon behind bars.

Due process is something that applies to how the state acts, with its luxury of time and deliberation. There can't be due process, per se, in a fight for survival. That is something for the aftermath.
Absolutely right. That is why self defense is not vigilante action, something we have ranted about here several times when such claims are made. Nor is it taking the law into one's own hands.

Mistake...

Yes, I was thrown by the AZ part & the Fox 35 news station in Orlando FL(which is Lake Mary, )
BTW; the 54 year old pizza guy was a ex-West Melbourne cop fired years ago for using office phones to call psychic hotlines.
You can't make this stuff up.
He had a valid W carry license; www.mylicensesite.com .
He sued the city & PD then got approx $296,000.00 in a legal settlement.
He was also acting as a independent contractor & not a formal Dominos Pizza employee. The pizza driver was not subject to corp SOPs or policy.
It's unknown yet what type of pistol the driver used.

BTW; I agree with the Florida prison bit. A young Orlando cop was shot in the lower torso while conducting a traffic stop. The subject fled but was later captured. He too had a long history of convictions & violent acts.
The court systems & corrections need to deal with this mess.
