10/22 Slidefire

Ever since I saw the Slidefire for the AR I have wanted an AR...not because I think an AR would be all that perfect for my lifestyle, I Just wanted the Slidefire. After getting the opportunity to actually shoot one it just made it worse. After Sandy Hook and AR prices went through the roof I reserved myself to the fact that I would probably never get to own one. Now, Slidefire has outdone themselves by offering their awesome rapid fire stock system for the 10/22! Is it useful? Not really. Is it fun? Oh yes! Is it a lot of money to put into the lowly "ten twenty two"? Very much so. Will I do it? Definitely. Now if only I can find .22 ammo by the brick again and life will be good (right now its $12.00 for a box of 50).

The slide-fire products intrigued me when ammo was much cheaper. Now, I don't even shoot my AC556. It's like spitting dollar bills down range at a rate of $600 per minute.

Yeah, its hard to justify sending 80 rounds downrange when you have to work for 3 hours to earn the money back that you just spent on 2 minutes of shooting. At least with .22 (once its available) its less painful.

$12.00 a box!!!! Wow i'm really out of touch with prices. My last couple dozen BRICKS cost less than $10 each, but that was ten years ago. I stocked up on 22's in the mid 90's to about 2005 and centerfires until 2006 or so. I haven't bought any ammo since so although I know prices are higher now, and you're in AK, I was still floored.

The slidefire eating ammo reminded me of the old hellfire trigger thingy. I went through half a case of 7.62X39 trying to perfect the right touch with it. Never did get it right.

It's supply and demand. And for that price.... they get zero demand from me. I've still got 10-20,000 rounds of .2LR stashed away. I won't be buying anymore until prices return to normal.

People really need to just stop paying the high prices. If the scalpers can't get their profit margin, they will quit lining up at WM at 5 AM and buying every single round as they carry them in from the truck. And then regular Joe Average can pick up a couple of boxes when they are there buying groceries.

Count me out of the slide fire. If I was gonna waste tons of money on ammo I would get one of those crank style trigger things with bunches of extended mags. Saw a guy at the range who had a 10/22 all done up like that. Gotta admit, it looked fun.

Heck of a lot cheaper and comes right off.
