17" of penetration would have me a bit worried about it going through and through and hitting a wall, or the person behind it

Fair enough. Most defensive handgun ammo is going to give you around 12-18'' of penetration so it's certainly not excessive, relatively speaking. That said, I'm a big advocate of rifles (with the right ammo) and shotguns with #4 buck for HD to limit overpenetration possibility.

Dang man... I have three Glocks. 31, 32, and 33! Now that's a real nice load.

As for 17 inches of penetration.. well you may have a side shot or heavy clothing and with many people now days are obese... just might need that 17 inches!

My comfort zone of penetration with service-level calibers is 12"-18", and this falls within that envelope. What with people being fatter than they used to be, I'm certainly not concerned about 17".

I have shot their 10mm and it is good ammo. The biggest problem is the ammo/component shortage. http://www.underwoodammo.com/

My normal CCW is an HK P2000 LEM in .357 SIG. I've got an ex-Army buddy who is an Air Marshal now so I carry their duty load: Speer Gold Dot. I also have a G35 which spends 98% of its life with a Jarvis .357 SIG barrel installed. That 5.1 inch barrel really helps get the last bit of velocity out of a load. It will smack the crap out of anything 100-125 yards away with no holdover.

Oh, and I had a custom DI AR pistol in .357 SIG built by Ron Williams as well. LW lower that uses the G31 mags. 9" barrel. I keep meaning to file the SBR paperwork for it so that I can install a stock. But it does work well right now.

I'll have to pick up a box of this Underwood Ammo to try in my guns.
