Ruger LCP Service Life

Does anyone have a Ruger LCP that they've shot a lot of rounds through. I have a Kel-Tec P380 that I like and it's been 100% reliable with Remington 102g Golden Sabers. It shoots to point of aim at least out to 45 feet which is as far as I've ever shot the gun. But, the general opinion of that gun seems to be that it'll probably not stand a lot of rounds before it's worn out. I'm wondering how the LCPs are holding up.

Mine doesn't have more than 250 rounds on it but certainly no problems at all.

I am curious as to some of the higher round counts though from other owners.

Re: Ruger LCP Service Life

I've heard of round counts of well over 1k with no problems. Check out the Ruger Pistol Forum.

A million? Any idea how long it would take to fire that many rounds, quite apart from the durability questions?

I find it hard to believe. Stack up a million sheets of toilet psaper and see how high the pile rises.

Well, mine ain't a range gun, so it's not going to have hundreds of rounds fired through it every month.

And I'm pushing 70, so it won't have that long a service life for me anyway.

I've got 3 or so boxes through mine and so far, so good. It is an older model and I wish it had the new trigger-hammer assembly in it. My wifes new one has half the trigger pull of mine. All are very accurate at 10 yds. or less.

Call Ruger and ask them about the life of the gun.Personally I wont own any handgun with an external safety.

For the price.....

I don't think it needs to be thought of as a shoot for the rest of your life gun. It is rather affordable, just buy another.. Just my thoughts. Mine has 2,000ish rounds through it and looks like is holding up fine. The only issue I have had is with some pin drift which is easy to spot and they pop right back into place.

If you wear out the KelTec They will fix or replace under the warrenty .

My P3AT has over 1000 trouble free rounds a lot of that Corbon . I'd leave the ruger in store
