Stainless P95 for G26?

All,
Looking for a few opinions here. I have a like new Ruger P95 Stainless that I could trade for a like new Glock 26 (Gen3). I've been interested in Glocks but have never owned on to date. In fact, I went looking for a Glock 26 not too long ago and decided on an M&P9c instead.

But I now have an opportunity to trade for one. I originally bought my P95 for home defense but I can see the Glock playing the same roll with the larger mags, plus being able to conceal carry it later should I choose. Interested in Glocks for their dependability and durability.

What are your opinions on this trade? Thanks.

Stainless P95 for G26?

I would make that trade in a heart beat.

The P95 is a fine gun, but I'd make that trade as well. The G26 is worth almost $200 more, and has the flexibility to be a fine CC as well as HD gun.

SIMP, have you shocked the G26 much?

As a matter of economics, the trade you describe seems to be to your advantage. However, since you will be using this for home defense. You will also want to be satisfied with the attributes of the glock.

One of the traits I find endearing in the P95 is the extraordinarily gentle recoil. Will you miss that?

The M&P9c is with me and will probably never leave...it's a fine handgun.

Honestly, I haven't shot the G26 all that much. I did test fire it at the range the day I chose my M&P9c but I went with the M&P due to it's ergonomics over the Glock. The M&P felt like it was molded for my hand. However, I had a hard time choosing because of Glock's reputation.

Now, with an opportunity to obtain the Glock, I can't decide if I want to get rid of my full-size Ruger. I am not at a point where I can keep both, unfortunately.

If I were you and I already had a compact pistol, I wouldn't get another one just because it is a Glock. I like glocks for what they are, but your P95 is a genuinely solid and reliable choice for home and range, and it is really an intermediate size like a sig 228 rather than a full-size.

Since you are not acquiring this Glock for resale, its higher market price would not drive my decision if I were in your shoes.

That's just my analysis though.

LOL, crew. Great points made, zukiphile. I am kind of fond of my P95. I may just wait until I can afford a Glock.....perhaps when the gun madness dies down a bit.

Me too. decided to go that route because the Glock trigger pull was not good(for me). P95 is nice in SA.

Lots of reasons to like the Glocks, but I don't ENJOY shooting them.

If that makes a difference to you.....Value is not always proportional to M$RP.

Do ya like it better than yer P95?
